Jacky Archer
After losing the use of all four limbs due to Multiple Sclerosis, Jacky Archer reluctantly visited a Day Centre where she began painting by holding a brush in her mouth. Though she had believed she lacked artistic talent, her determination – and the encouragement of staff, her husband Les, and later the Mouth & Foot Painting Artists – helped her discover a new passion. Accepted as a Student Artist in 2008, Jacky now paints her beloved cats and landscapes, and her first solo exhibition at the Barbican in 2010 greatly boosted her confidence and artistic drive.
